Industry 4.0

What is Industry 4.0?

Within the concept of Industry 4.0 we usually talk about “enabling technologies” or “digital enablers”. This term refers to the technologies on which the digital transformation is based and which are the pillars of the catalog of products and services that is built.

The concept of Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution or Connected Industry, is understood as the application of digital technologies to the industrial environment with the aim of generating new solutions with high added value and differentiating them from the competition.

Vision
Technologies

Also known as machine vision technologies. These are technologies that allow the processing and analysis of images to obtain indicators and the planning of operation and maintenance tasks (among others)

Industrial
Internet of Things

It is the evolution of the concept Internet of Things better known by its acronym IoT and also known in Spanish as the Internet of things. The Industrial Internet of Things concept refers to its application to the industrial sector and consists of the interconnection to the Internet of the information generated in an industrial plant. It arises as a further step in the process of industrial automation.

Big Data
Analytics

This set of technologies is born from the existence of a set of data whose characteristics make it impossible for them to be assimilated, analyzed or consolidated with conventional software technologies. These characteristics are: volume, variety, speed, accuracy and value.

User
Interfaces

One of the main characteristics of the digital transformation is the creation of new modes of interaction with the user within the industrial process. We work on augmented reality, virtual or mixed technologies; web technologies of visualization and multimodal interaction (among others).

Simulation technologies

The objective of this set of technologies is the simulation of industrial processes and is based on the use of tools such as CFD and/or numerical calculation tools. Within this set of technologies virtual reality and the concept of “digital twin” are highlighted.

Robotics

Within these technologies, the use of drones stands out, understood as autonomous and unmanned devices that allow the monitoring and remote acquisition of information.

Systems integration

It can be understood both at a horizontal level (within the phases of the life cycle of a project) and at a vertical level (I have from the pyramid of process information levels). In both cases, we work on the creation of interfaces and communication protocols that allow the interconnection between systems.
