SABIA: AI-based automated quality control system for flexible industrial production
IDE/2024/000898
Activities co-financed by the Government of Asturias through the SEKUENS Agency, and by the European Union through the Just Transition Fund (FTJ) through the Hyper-automation call.

The SABIA project aims to design and implement an automated quality control system, supported by artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, to optimise processes in a flexible industrial production environment. The initiative responds to the growing demand from industries seeking to improve their operational efficiency, minimise errors and adapt their production lines to a constantly changing market.
The technological solution proposed in the project is based on the implementation of advanced computer vision algorithms for the detection of defects in products in real time, as well as the integration of robotic systems that, working together with AI, allow the automation of the inspection process and the handling of products.
On the other hand, the project will also study the inclusion of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in the system to facilitate intuitive interaction with operators, allowing, for example, the configuration of system parameters through voice or text commands, thus improving usability and reducing the training time required for staff.
