TSK to build the largest wind farm in the Gulf

31 August, 2017

Masdar, a renewable energy company based in Abu Dhabi, signed a turnkey engineering and construction contract with the consortium formed by TSK and General Electric to build a 50 MW wind farm in Oman, the first large-scale project of this type in the Gulf.

The wind farm will be located in Dhofar (southwest of Oman and northeast of Yemen) and will feed 16,000 homes and offset 110,000 tonnes of annual carbon dioxide emissions.
The project between Masdar and the Rural Areas Electricity Company of Oman was launched in 2014.

Throughout its history, TSK has built a solid base of technical and engineering capabilities in the field of wind power generation that have been embodied in numerous unique projects both in Spain and internationally.

With this contract, TSK reinforces its presence in the Middle East where it is currently carrying out different projects such as a sugar refinery in Saudi Arabia, a solar thermal plant in Kuwait and a photovoltaic plant and port terminal in Jordan, with a portfolio in the region that exceeds 500 million euros.
